Courses Plus Student 18,830 PointsIf you expand your browser past a certain width, Treehouse won't expand any further. My guess would be that this is to keep the site and overall design looking clean and professional. Having everything stretched out so wide wouldn't be very user friendly in my opinion, and would be a little rough to look at. I think there are many cases when considering design, where you'd want to restrict how wide the content can go.

23,118 PointsI agree with Kristopher in that it wouldn't be as user friendly, but it still expands pretty far at 1500px. I just think the design is a left centric Z pattern, and I'm a fan. I also it's about functionally/user friendliness. workspaces/text editors are an integral part of learning on this site, so you need to have a design that is created for a smaller width, so you can accommodate workspaces. In the end it's a good design driven by functionally.

23,118 PointsAh now we see the joys of media queries. Yeah, your screen's width probably doesn't exceed 1500px, so on your screen its full width, but on desktop layouts the design stops at 1500+.
