JavaScript jQuery Basics Working with jQuery Collections The .each() method

Why don't we pass "this" as an argument in the function?

this is working:

$('.favorite-things li').each(function() { $(this).prepend("<input type='chechkbox/>'") });

but why is the following not working: $('.favorite-things li').each(function(this) { this.prepend("<input type='chechkbox/>'") });

?

Hey Johan Berglund ! In this code you're using jquery so $(this) is a jquery object while this is just the element itself
