Courses Plus Student 11,711 Pointswhy in linux ubuntu, does the view look squashed?
In my virtual machine when using linux ubuntu. The browser seems to push everything in from the sides. Kind of like it give it a margin: 0 auto; but that is not required.
Here is one image of what one screenshot looks like in linux
Here is another screenshot of what is looks like in linux
and here is a screenshot of what the preceding image in linux looks like in google chrome in window
as it can bee seen for some reason, in linux it squeezes it all in. I am not sure if this is down to using firefox or not?

839 PointsWhat is the resolution set to on your virtual machine? The South london tutors site has a max-width of 1200px on the .container class and a margin-left:auto and margin-right:auto.
Firefox is displaying it correctly, It should appear in the center. Are you not maybe zoomed in on chrome? Try Ctrl+0 to reset the zoom back to 100%.
Its more than likely something to do with your resolution.

Courses Plus Student 11,711 PointsThanks for answers guys, I just now zoomed out as suggested on chrome. However on the virtual machine it still looks squashed in. Brett Van Der Westhuizen I think what you have said about the virtual display settings is the problem however when I try to change those settings it doesn't let me. They are not available for me to change them. Here is another screen shot of what those settings look like. Not sure how to change these settings.

839 PointsI wouldn't describe it as a problem. 99% of sites have to have some sort of max-width on the main container div. Both the south london tutors site and Treehouse's site sit in the middle like that on my screen.
If it really bothers you, in Ubuntu there should be a program which I think is called "display" that will let you set the resolution.
