Why is this not transforming the text to upper case?

let firstName = "Paul"; let lastName = "Smith"; let role = "developer";

let msg = firstName + ' ' + lastName + ':' + role + '.' ; let shout = role.toUpperCase();

Hi Paul!

The challenges tests are kind of particular as to how you solve them (not very flexible).

This passes task 1:

let firstName = "Paul";
let lastName = "Smith";
let role = "developer";

let msg = firstName + ' ' + lastName + ': ' + role;

Note: You needed a space after the colon and you don't need the period.

To pass the second task, just add .toUpperCase() to role in that existing line of code.

BTW, it also passes using template literal syntax, like this:

let firstName = "Paul";
let lastName = "Smith";
let role = "developer";

let msg = `${firstName} ${lastName}: ${role.toUpperCase()}`;

(And don't forget the surrounding backticks...)
