12,135 Pointswhy my code can not pass?
var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
while (secret!= "sesame" ) {
prompt("What is the secret password?");
}
document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
When I typed sesame,why "You know the secret password. Welcome." did not show up?

the reason is you don't change the variable secret for second time
var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
while (secret!= "sesame" ) {
secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
}
document.write("You know the secret password. Welcome.");
this will show the prompt until you put correct answer

12,135 PointsThank you,but that's wired cause when I typed "sesame", it's still the "What is the secret password?" showed up,not "You know the secret password. Welcome."

15,308 Pointsthis would also work better as a do while loop. it would look like this.
do {
var secret = prompt("What is the secret password?");
} while ( secret != "sesame");
document.write('You know the secret password.');
it will "do" the prompt "while" secret is not equal to sesame. hope this helped happy coding.
