Hi Naidin,

Look at the structure of your links in the list : you did <li> <a href="#" Contact </a> </li> The good structure is <li> <a href="#"> Contact </a> </li>

You need to close first your <a href="#"> Here put what you want </a> The code below should work fine :)

         <!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
        <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
        </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>
          ```
You need to close off list items like
Portfolio></a></li>
Hope that helps
I already tried that but it says "Be sure to add a list item with the word Portfolio in it." Like in the example above, i did it, i closed the tag like u said and i still get that error.
