iOS Build a Playlist Browser with Swift Building the Music Library and Playlist Models Passing the Playlist Object

Why the playlist != nil for the optional? Is this the new syntax? We were taught another way to handle this by Amit.

We were taught before to handle it in an if-statement.

Previously, in Swift, a non nil optional would implicitly evaluate to true, and a nil optional would implicitly evaluate to false. For clarity, Apple changed that, to avoid confusion with optional Bool values. It just helps make a developers intent clearer.
