Treehouse Moderator 11,073 PointsIf it what I am thinking, then you may want to use JavaScript over CSS for speed. You can use javascript to load groups of images much faster than you would just referencing them in CSS.
If that wasn't particularly what you were talking about then, you could also use javascript to have a bit more control over the images than you would with just CSS.

32,918 PointsAnother consideration, also if I'm understanding what you mean, is that if you are taking a JavaScript class, the instruction is merely showing how to load images with JavaScript and not necessarily presenting one method as better over another.
