Working with git repositories

As he used this command
rm -r myProject/.git
to remove the git repo. Can someone explain , what is "-r" in this command? And second question is , why doesn't this command work
git rm -r myProject/.git

1 Answer

-r is for recursive. So it will remove the entire file structure. Not sure I can help you out with the second question without seeing an error message.

ah ..thanks @gsav . I got the answer to my same question . Actually , using git rm -r myProject/.git will confuse the bash command with git commands.
