I watched the video about making everything compact into the .container (1000px wide) and it really does contain everything.. I am just wondering what happens when someone goes to the site on a huge monitor? Will the margin: auto make sure everything is still 1000px wide and centered? What about a small window size? Will a part of the right screen be taken off, or does the browser automatically make everything according to the screen size?

Yes
What about a small window size? Will a part of the right screen be taken off[?]
Yes, by default there with scroll bars to see the rest of the page
Or [can] the browser automatically make everything according to the screen size?
This is possible using an intermediate technique called, Responsive Design where the page layout responds to the window size.
After you finish the HTML & CSS deep dives there's a Treehouse course where you convert the pre-existing Smells Like Bakin' website into one which scales based on window size making it usable on mobile devices.
