JavaScript

Works on workspace, but not on my desktop text editor.

var answer = prompt('What is the best programming language?'); if (answer === 'JavaScript') { alert = ("<p>You are correct</p>"); } else { alert = ("<p>JavaScript is the best language!</p>"); }

So if i put this on workspace it works but when I try to test it on my text editor. It just gives me the prompt and nothing else. Is there something wrong with the syntax?

You don't need the equals operator in your alert function, it should be alert("Hello World!"), not alert = ("Hello World!");
