No workspace on iPad - not worth $25/month for this reason - can't mov ahead with course because of simple syntax errors which r tedious to fix with no workspace

A workspace will not make a difference.

You have to have Apple Xcode to make Apple Apps. Which means you have to have a Apple Mac computer.

Blame Apple, not Team Treehouse.

I think Ethan's answer was rather harsh. I do understand your pain - having a functioning workspace for e.g. iPad is a great way to accompany Xcode and breaking up the learning process. I like watching Treehouse videos before I sleep, so I'll use my S6 Edge+ while lying in bed. It would free us from having to sit on a computer for even the simplest challenges. Of course one can not learn iOS development without a Mac with Xcode, but it doesn't need to be mutually exclusive. I think a good mobile workspace would really help my learning flow.
