Workspaces Equivalent?

Hello, I apologize if there's already an answer for this somewhere here, I'm having trouble finding it.

I'm trying to figure out what application closest resembles Workspaces outside of the Treehouse environment. Dreamweaver seems like overkill, I'm worried the slick UI is too much of a crutch and would defeat the purpose of learning how to code... figuring out the nuts and bolts and all. Someone suggested CodeLobster, but processes as simple as manipulating your file directories or cutting and pasting text are counter-intuitive enough to be roadblocks for me.

Is there an opensource coding environment out there that is close enough to Workspaces that I won't be grinding my teeth trying to emulate the projects I'm learning at Treehouse?

Much thanks, Kane

10 points for Gryffindor! Thanks, Robin, that looks to be exactly what I'm looking for.

Another vote for Sublime Text. It's also actually used a lot by the Treehouse teachers in many videos.

sublime is good. I like using Komodo edit. :D There is some draw back to it but overall. SOLID! :D

I went with Brackets. Checked out Sublime Text, looks great too, but cheaper is better for me at the moment. Thanks for all the input though, very helpful.
