Would it be easier to do this in a program like After Effects and then put that on your website?

25,913 PointsWell, I guess that when it comes to videos for Youtube or other ends for example, yes After Effects does the job. But to see the animation inside the site itself, with no need to buffer a video, CSS and JS are the call.

3,587 PointsIt could be done in Adobe's Edge Animate. It offers extensive animating options and easy integration into your website because it works with javascript and css. It also works fine with responsive websites :)
