General Discussion

Written lessons vs videos

Is it possible to read the lessons rather than watching the videos?

If so, where do I find it?

Hey Cheryl,

Almost all videos will have the transcripts in a link below the video available for you. I have used them from time to time to clear something up. I do caution, however, that it is still a good idea to watch the videos as well. The transcripts will not tell you what the teachers are typing, only what they are saying. So, if some new code is being discussed, the teachers could be explaining what/why they are doing (this will be in the transcripts), but the code they are typing specifically and where in the file it is being added will not show up in the transcripts.

Hope that helps.

:dizzy:

Thanks! Time to dig out the headphones.

You could try turning on the CC for the video when available. (If having the volume on externally is the issue). This way you can mute the video and read along with the Closed Captions in the video.

I had assumed it was more that you wanted a 'text-book' learning style (which I do prefer). But if it's volume... give the CCs a shot. :)

Thanks again! I do prefer a more text-book style of learning. My bigger issue is not being limited to when I won't disturb the rest of the household. I'll give the CC a try.
