A "pro tip" for treehouse on Android

Hello all you happy learners here at Treehouse. I just wanted to a share a way I’ve been using treehouse on the go through in android phone.

Basics: If any of you have tried streaming treehouse videos through a mobile browser you’ll be aware that it’s a less than desirable experience. so download a podcast player, point your mobile browser to the course you want to watch and scroll to the bottom to open the “itunes feed”. As teacher Ben Jakuben instructs in this post: replace the “itpc” at the beginning of the link with “http”. You should now be able to open the feed with your favorite podcast player on android and enjoy good playback as well as play/pause actions.

Extra: I personally use podcast republic as my player of choice. As a bonus it also keeps playing video podcasts while the screen is off, so you can listen to audio while running or doing other activities.

You can also take quizzes through the mobile chrome/dolphin browsers. Or take them later when you get back to your computer.

It would be cool to have a native android app at some point in the future for treehouse, but this work around does the job pretty well for me.

Treehouse actually does have an android app now, but there is no offline feature yet, so the podcast way still might be valuable to you.
