how to edit our two Treehouse resume

templates that are available to you for
free on Canva.

So the first thing you're going to
be brought to is this little page

where it's super easy to just scroll
down and click Use Templates, and

that will bring you
into the Canva website.

Once you're in Canva,
your resume is gonna look like this.

It's gonna be quite zoomed out and
probably really hard to see.

So all you have to do to adjust
the size is slide this little bar

down here in order to make the resume
larger or smaller like so.

Our resume is totally customizable, and

all you have to do is fill in all
of your personal information.

So obviously, if you want to change
the color of this background,

you can do so, you can put in your own
photo, you can edit your name, and

fill in all of your information.

We have two resume
templates available to you.

One is for the developer with
little to no experience.

So that focuses more on the projects you
worked on and your personal hobbies.

And our alternative resume template is for
the coder that has

more experience and
really focuses on your job experience.

This template is our new or
beginner coder template.

As you can see,
we have projects front and center.

Then if you scroll down,
you can add your personal experience.

You don't have to add just
coding experience here.

It's important to note that lots of
experience has relevance in coding,

it's just how you frame it.

So put your most relevant
work experience and

don't worry about if it's coding-based or

On the side here, you'll see you
can enter in your interests, and

make sure to put interests that would be
interesting to a potential interviewer.

So you see, over here, we have experience
instead of projects, and it focuses

you feel more attracted to the other

go ahead and use that one.

it's totally customizable.

The next thing I'm gonna walk you
through is how you can customize

to be personalized to you.

So as you've seen me scroll around,

you see everything be highlighted
by this little purple box.

All you have to do to activate these
little purple boxes is just click on

something and then you can start typing
your own text and editing it as you will.

Another thing you can customize is
the colors that are used on the template.

So say you're not super interested in
green, you can click on it, click on

Color, and then change it to a new color
that you're more interested in using.

One thing I do recommend though is
if you're going to change this color

here the text color that highlights
the various parts of your document is

So just make sure that everything

Another thing I get a lot of questions
about is updating your photo right here.

It's super simple.

So all you have to do is drag and
drop a photo into Canva,

whichever photo you wanna
use as your resume photo.

Then you click on uploads here and
you can drag and drop a new photo.

And if you wanna make it black and white

you're gonna do is press Edit photo and

To add a link, all you're gonna do
is click right here, press Link, and

personal link you wanna add.

just copy and paste your LinkedIn and

So once you've gone through and
you've edited your resume to your tastes,

the next step is obviously
saving your resume so

How to save your resume is super simple.

You're just gonna go up here
