Difficulties following tutorials (very outdated/causes unresolvable problems)

Hello everyone. I am very new to Android development. I have a lot to catch up but definitely expect tutorials to be clear. I have paid for courses on teamtreehouse.com to learn Android development but it has become very difficult to the point that i cannot follow further. Lesson "Build a Self-Destructing Message Android App" has great potential content that promises to help to learn some great Android fundamentals but it is using unsupported ADT and the world is on Android Studio already. Though teacher does mention that there should be no difference or very minor (between ADT/Eclipse and Android Studio), - unfortunately, I have to disagree. I got completely stuck on Navigation with Back and Up section. My Android Studio Code has completely different code in it, written by Android Studio. It has different xml within manifest and layouts. I am completely lost.... Can teacher at the very least add some comments on what would it be within Android Studio? I am sorry if i sound dumb but i am very new to mobile dev though i do have some java experience. I really need help...... :(

They are updating the videos as we speak. Just a couple days ago, they updated the 1st video. Im sure that in a week or 2, their content will be updated. Hope this encourages you. PS Try downloading the older ADT to just learn what he is trying to teach.

I have just received an encouraging post from Jacob Cordeiro (Thank you!!!) stating that with just a bit of a patience, classes with be soon updated with latest technology (Android Studio). I will be patiently waiting and for now, just to learn some concepts, as suggested, i will install the ADT provided by Ben within first lessons and just follow along. Thank you for encouragement! :)

Hey Vladimir! Just wanted to chime in that this course is no longer in the beginner Android track mostly becuase of the reasons you've identified :). If you're interested, you can update to the current Android track by adding ?show_current_version=true to the end of the URL.
