Download Files?

Can you please make the files for the project downloadable so we can work with them on our own machines?

Many thanks, Drew Butcher

It's also missing an iTunes feed to watch offline.

Kenneth Love , Kat Chuang ,

There seems to be a problem with the downloadable zip file associated with this video.

Hi Jason Anello, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I was able to open the zip file this afternoon on OSX. Was curious if the download link been updated? Or was the problem happening on another operating system?

Thanks Dr. Kat

I just tried it again and it's working now. I verified that the zip file contains several files and folders and looks to be complete. Treehouse must have updated it.

Anyone who wants to work locally should be able to do so now without issue.

Hi Drew,

Although it's not as convenient as having a download link below the video you can usually retrieve files you need from a workspace.

I launched the workspace for this video and there were 3 empty folders along with a "data.csv" file. Is it that file that you need to continue locally?

If so, you can download that workspace and retrieve it from the zip file it creates.

File -> Download Workspace

I got back the following:

treehouse:~/workspace$ data.csv -> Download Work
space
-bash: data.csv: command not found
treehouse:~/workspace$ Download Workspace
-bash: Download: command not found

Jason was not providing a command to type into the terminal, he was guiding you on what to click inside workspaces.

At the top of the white section in workspaces there is a link labeled "File", select this then select "Download Workspace". This will download a .zip file onto your computer.

Also, there is a project files download link for me under the description of the video in between the "Questions" and "Workspaces" links.

Sorry for the confusion Drew, I didn't explain my answer well enough.

Brandon, thanks for the clarification.

I wonder if that project download was added recently because I thought it was not there when I posted my answer.

In that case, don't worry about getting it from workspaces and just download it from the "Downloads" tab below the video.

Those were my thoughts as well, Jason. With the course being so new I'm sure there is still some refining going on behind the scenes.

I do not have the same files. I try to download it here http://treehouse-code-samples.s3.amazonaws.com/GuestCourses/python-data-sci-basics-master.zip and there is an XML error.

Hey ghost code,

I never tried it but you're right. It seems to be an invalid/corrupted zip file.

Have you tried the workspace option to retrieve the files as outlined by Brandon? Just so you're not held up while this is getting sorted out...

I haven't been through the course yet but as far as I can tell from the workspace you only need the csv file at this point.

Hey Jason. I opened up a new workspace specific to the video I was on. There was no files only folders. I could not follow along so I just called it quits to its better. I can get the CSV however she started working in another file I didn't even have so I got over it.

Hi ghost code, I tried to show the steps when writing the code in the .py files so let me know if you have questions for clarification :)

Thanks Sue Dough. I got the data.csv here in the url you have given in you comments in this question.
