Ember 2.0 course?

From what I understand, Ember 2.0 has made some pretty significant changes to the framework, like moving toward components. I've always wanted to learn Ember.js just to become a more well rounded Javascript developer and it seems to be a desirable skill set in the industry since i've heard it follows a more traditional MVC pattern, which allows for a better or more standardized file/coding structure thus many companies use it because developers can jump into projects more quickly.

Basically, I want to follow the current Ember.js course but I have no idea how much has changed since the course was made and since 2.0 has released. Is it worth just following the current Ember course? Is the general process the same or would learning pre-2.0 be a hindrance? If 2.0 has made a lot of significant changes, are there plans to update the current course content to 2.0 anytime soon?

That Trello project is abandoned :(

Or maybe just hasn't been updated in a little while? Last update was July...

Aaah i see.. so npm Basics is still in progress... i thought it was out since a couple of months ago... To be honest mate, if you can't call the Trello board abandoned then i clearly don't know what abandoned is..

Yeah fair call.

Andrew Chalkley, Dave McFarland, any news on new JavaScript courses?

Angular is getting a refresh. I'm on a couple of SQL courses right now, Huston is on MongoDB. We'll also be doing JavaScript testing too soon after.

Has a lot changed in Angular since a year ago? I've been far too intrigued by Ember and been mostly using Meteor lately, at least for my own live apps (I know Meteor doesn't have a course, I kind of self-taught myself on that one). I built a project a year ago in Angular and am holding off until Angular2.0. I know Google is going to support Angular1.0 after 2.0 but if i'm gonna start a new project using Angular, I might as well wait for 2.0 since it seems there will be significant changes.

There's also the Treehouse Content Roadmap. It says there to contact support if you feel something is missing.

Maybe try suggesting an Ember 2.0 course or a refresh of the existing Ember course on the Treehouse JavaScript Content Roadmap on Trello?

So Trello would be the only place to go to find out if they're working on new courses or to make suggestions?

I don't know if it's the only place to go, but it should be the first place, because that's what they set up and suggested to use.

I guess you could contact Treehouse Support directly, but that's more for technical or billing issues.

Or contact the teacher of the original Ember course to see if they are interested in doing an update.

I emailed Treehouse about it. They said there were no current plans to update the Ember course for 2.0 changes :-( . I think it should get one considering it's one of the most popular frameworks out there but I also understand it's a big investment to redo the whole course. They said with enough desire, it would be considered.
