Your thought process is correct, you have just made a few syntax mistakes. First, your JSONArray should be named jsonShows as the directions state. Remember when creating a for loop, each piece should be separated by a semicolon and you do not put a semicolon at the end of the conditions. 

// Renamed to jsonShows per directions
JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");

// added a semi colon after the first condition
for (int i = 0; i < jsonShows.length(); i++) // removed the semicolon at the end of the statement
