Questions about the JavaScript course

Hello! I just started on the JavaScript course, and I have a few questions:

  1. Is/will the course be updated for ES6/7? It's quite an significant update to JavaScript that changes A LOT to the syntax. Or will I have to use the separate course along with it?

  2. I've been learning JS(And some jQuery) for over 2 years now, although I've been busy with oher things and been unable to learn it.. But I want to pick it up again and master JS! I know the basics, but I'm not ready to code an advanced website or program just yet. I did a few tracks on Codecademy when I started out, didn't finnish it but I got quite far. Should I follow the course from the start or do you think I should jump in somewhere else?

Thank you!

Hello gbcode

We do have a course called Introducing ES2015 and we'll be adding more ES2015 / ES6 content soon. Since a LOT of code is still written in ES5, it's good to know and master that syntax as well.

Our Full Stack JavaScript track has a lot of great material if you want to start there and follow along.

An the other hand, if you feel like you have a pretty good handle on JavaScript you could just pick and choose courses and workshop from our large selection of JavaScript content: https://teamtreehouse.com/library/topic:javascript

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply Dave!

Ah I see, ES5 is indeed used a lot. And I'll look forward for more ES6 content aswell! After your suggestions, I've decided to go through the course from the beginning so I'm sure I haven't missed anything! And I'll also look out for more workshops in JavaScript, one thing I'd love to see is a GSAP(And some of their plugins) track!

Thanks again!
