22,160 PointsRemove course from "In Progress" homescreen.
When I am helping out with questions on forums I often look at the challenges they are referring to so that I can get context for their question.
The problem is looking at a challenge enrolls me in the course it is attached to, and then my home screen shows that course as "In Progress" and is quite annoying.
Is there some way I can remove a course from the "in progress" status on my home screen? Can a staffer do it for me?
Thanks for your help. Loving the site! :)

4,731 PointsHi Nathan,
Thanks for your feedback on this. Unfortunately, at present, there isn't a way to remove courses from 'in progress', but there will be some upcoming changes to the homepage that will allow for some much needed flexibility. I don't have any ETA for you, but it is coming! Thanks for your patience!
24 Mar 2017 Edit: While I wish I was sharing good news, in the name of transparency, I'd like to share that these changes have been tabled for now. Please note that I still understand how valuable a feature this is and additional flexibility for students is still a goal. I'm sorry for any disappointment or frustration this may cause,

22,160 PointsSo how about having a staffer remove it for me? And until you get it worked out I will take care not to help anyone with their questions on the forum.

4,731 PointsI apologize, I don't have the ability to do it for you, either.
I'm sad to hear you won't be helping others, as I just saw a great example of you assisting another student. Helping is your own prerogative, however. Thank you for what you've done so far.

22,160 PointsIt is very unpleasant to not understand where you are up to in your work, especially when you are doing quite a bit at one time.
I count on the home screen to guide me in my progress. How am I going to do that when I am being randomly directed to courses each time I am trying to help someone out.
I will still help where the user has provided context in their post. But where their post lacks context (as they most often do) I won't seek the context by clicking on the view challenge button because I know that will just mess up my own progress indicators and make my learning that much harder.
For the want of a simple button to unenroll from a course. So silly.

4,731 PointsHi Nathan,
We understand where you're coming from and I, personally, face similar issues. I am a Support Rep here, and by definition, have to also access many courses of which I am not currently studying. Aforementioned, some changes are in the works which should help with this issue. We greatly appreciate your feedback.

231,236 PointsI'm hoping the ability to "drop" a course from their own home page will soon be added to every user's capabilities, similar to how you can currently leave a track.
And it would also be really neat if there were a single place for users to view planned UX changes currently in the works, and propose and vote on new ones, similar to what was done for upcoming and proposed courses on Trello.

1,143 PointsHas this been implemented yet? I watched some introductions to courses and now there doesn't seem to be any way to remove them from the In Progress list. My OCD is going nuts unless I can remove them!

17,247 PointsSame here. Started taking Swift 2.0 only to realize later that 3.0 was available. Now, I get emails prompts, etc. suggesting I finish 2.0.

3,510 PointsI'd really like this resolved. For the last about year and a half, I've had the Java Objects course I spent about an hour on sometime in 2015, taking up the top half of my In Progress page, and the numerous modules that have taken the forefront since then take up smaller portions below it. Also, before I turned off the daily Suggestion emails, for that last year and a half I was prompted every day to work on the next video fo the Java Objects course, never the new stuff I worked on. And did I mention that this is apparently the obsolete course, that they are removing from the site soon? They haven't even updated my suggestions to point to the active version of this course.

4,086 PointsI'm also a bit sad about this behaviour. Just wanted to tease a colleague of mine a course and now I can't reverse it :-((

Have all of you also written directly to the Support group? The forum is a great place to get help from other students, but may not be the most expedient (or even certain) way to contact the staff.
Also, remember Jay did say this was coming a year ago. That infamous leaderboards bug was recently fixed. So maybe this will be next!

5,407 PointsPlease, please, implement this feature. It's to the point where I'm using AdBlock to remove the abandoned courses from my Home screen.
Steven Parker
231,236 PointsThat's actually a pretty clever idea!

3,713 PointsAny news on this feature? It's really annoying to see 2+ years old courses on my homepage.

12,492 PointsHey we're in 2018. Any word on a more customizable student "dashboard"? It would be wonderful if we had the ability to remove courses from out student library/in-progress. Sometimes students have peaked interest in courses then realize this isn't the correct path or best use of time, so we stop. Having the course remain as the top 'In-Progress' bucket doesn't help, especially when you have to dig for the course(s) you really want to continue. Doesn't make for a very pleasant UX and I enjoy your platform.
Jay Padzensky
4,731 PointsHi Juan,
I don't have an update on this feature at this time. We understand that homepage customization is desired by students but it isn't something we're able to tackle at this time.
While I agree, it is annoying to see multiple courses in progress (I have 86 or something crazy due to attempting to replicate issues students are having), the fortunate aspect of how this works is that any new courses you begin or resume will populate the "In-progress" section, pushing out any you haven't studied from, though always displaying the three most recent courses with activity in them.
I'll follow up with my manager and the team about this feature, though. We appreciate you and everyone else airing their feedback here.

231,236 PointsIt seems the staff now has the ability to reset progress. Here's an excerpt from a FAQ page that was posted in July:
Upon request, we can reset a portion or all of your content. Please note, when resetting only a portion of one’s completed content, you are limited to 3 courses or 3 tracks or a combination of the two, as for a full account reset, this can only be done once and cannot be undone.
Please send an email to help@teamtreehouse.com and include a link to the course(s) or track(s) that you’d like to have reset, or if you would like to reset the account progress entirely to start over from scratch.

Courses Plus Student 604 PointsThis is maddening. I started a basic html course and realized I can skip it,but it keeps it on my courses list and I can't get rid of it.
