Hello,
I'm relatively new on treehouse, and so far I'm enjoying learning here.
I've recently finish the HTML basic course and I was looking for some basic templates to practice html code, in one of the videos the teacher said it would be good if one could try to build a site that already exists, and compare the result with the actual site. I'll appreciate if someone could help me with a webpage with good but simple templates; I've seen wix.com and others so far, but they seem to be a little more complicated and have things i haven't learned yet.
I'll also appreciate any other tips for good ways of learning since I am starting from 0 and all this stuff seems a little overwhelming sometimes. Thanks for the help.

- Basic templates (You actually get to make the website, 'Freelancer' in a later course but making it early on will provide you with valuable insights).
- I recommend the text editor, Brackets for beginners because you can easily view what you're coding with one button. AND IT SHOWS YOU THE CHANGES LIVE!
- Best way to learn using Teamtreehouse
- Remember Google is now your best friend in the whole universe. If you get an error, google "solved: <enter error name and number here>". If you don't know how to do something, google it. The only thing that google can't directly help you with is if you don't know the word for something. For that, do a google image search for "<insert language here> syntax".
- Other than that, realize that if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. You're going to mess up loads, everyone does. Stick to it :-)

4,731 PointsWith regard to some learning materials, I'd recommend the Jon Duckett books "HTML & CSS" and "JavaScript & jQuery". They're a great offline resource to refer to and a great medium if you're maxing on videos.
I've really enjoyed playing with [CodePen](codepen.io) as well. It's a virtually real-time text editor that takes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and outputs the results immediately. It's a great way of watching what happens to a site and its structure, design, look when altering a line of HTML here, CSS there, etc.
I may also recommend taking a look at some additional coding forums and podcasts geared to the beginning coder. I hope this helps some. Keep up the hard work!

1,546 PointsSome good text books will be very helpful, since I can't always load up the videos on data when I'm out or going to work. I will check CodePen as well and constantly have a look to the forums and search the podcasts.
Thank you very much for the recommendations!

1,546 PointsThanks!!! the basic templates that you mentioned seem good for what I am looking for. I've already downloaded Brackets, seems like a good text editor for coding when not working in the workspaces.
Thank you for the other tips, I will go over them and keep up learning all that I can! You are very right on that last point :)
