Android Android Lists and Adapters (2015) Updating the Data Model Using JSONArray

Using JSONArray

The data in the file data.json has been loaded into a JSONObject named jsonData. Using data.json as your guide, create a JSONArray object named jsonShows and set it to the array of shows from data.json using the jsonData object.

CodeChallenge.java
// JSONObject 'jsonData' was loaded from data.json
data.json
{
    "name":"Netflix Playlist",
    "shows":[
        {
            "title":"Doctor Who",
            "season":8,
            "episode":3
        },
        {
            "title":"Arrow",
            "season":1,
            "episode":10
        },
        {
            "title":"Portlandia",
            "season":4,
            "episode":5
        }
    ]
}

Challenge Task 2 of 2 Finally, write a 'for' loop that loops through jsonShows. In each step of the loop, use getJSONObject(int index) to get a JSONObject from the array. Then use the Log.i() method (with "CodeChallenge" as the tag) to write the show title.

Use this answer for (int i = 0; i < jsonShows.length(); i++) { JSONObject show = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i); String title = show.getString("title"); String pages = show.getString("pages"); Log.i("CodeChallenge", title);
}

JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");

on breaking down,

jsonData holds the JSON data from API.

"shows" holds an array of data in JSON data (jsonData)

jsonShows is the JSONArray object for which it is being set to.
