That seems a bit steep for an entry level position, but a Senior Developer at a reasonably large company that depends on web applications for essential business operations can obtain a salary at that level and significantly higher.

You'll need experience and up-to-date skills in both server applications and front-end development, and SQL (at least, possibly also NoSQL) database development. Some situations will also require mobile app development experience.

Some example employers would be Wells Fargo Bank, Amazon.com Inc, and Kaiser Permanente. One web source claims that the average web developer salary at Wells Fargo Bank is $103,000.

It's good to get a resume out there, write cover letters, go on interviews, etc, but take networking very seriously. Get to know people, make your skills known. I've been accepted in roles where I lack in the required skills, but people have come to know my personality, people skills, and work ethic. Always be a people person; be known as an expert. That's my best advice; don't have an easy "go here and apply" answer though.

NYC yes, but that's compensating for the incredibly high cost of living...which realistically will bring the salary down to maybe $35-40k range buying power with the average rent of a studio apt. being $2,500k a month without utilities. Upstate NY: No you can't find an entry level web development position paying that much, if you can find an IT job at all (as most of Upstate is very small rural towns). I can't speak for the entire state of CA, but I've lived in many parts of NY.

Honestly Christopher I'm a bit put off by your question because it seems like you're wanting us to find some place for you...as evidenced by your response to Steven. You'll need to do the work to find a position that makes what you want and develop the skills to obtain that position. As someone else mentioned in your other post, $75,000 for an entry level position, as say a Junior Web Developer, is incredibly steep and unrealistic (just in a few second search from Glassdoor.com the national average annual income for a Jr. Web Developer is $49,000).

If you're hoping to hit that magic value right away, you're most likely in the wrong place learning skills that would land you an entry level position in the IT field. There are extremely few to no jobs that will net you that much right away without a bachelor's/master's level degree in anything...and even then it's a crap shoot on whether you can earn that much right away...but it's far more likely. Please visit websites like O*Net or Salary.com to look for places/positions/types of work that might have the best shot of obtaining what you want vs. asking the community to do that work for you.
