Course Overview1:27 with Zac Gordon
For this project we will start with a Treehouse Tourism Website. This site will include a number of different types of content: posts, pages, custom post types, media and contact forms. These elements represent the most common types of content a WordPress website owner will deal with on a regular basis.
Hi, I'm Zack, Word Press teacher here at Treehouse.
We have a lot of content here in Treehouse that deals with Word Press.
But this course is special.
This course is designed specifically for website owners.
Over the course of this project, you'll learn how to get a WordPress
site, how to add and edit your content, how to work with media like
images, how to manage your community of visitors,
and tips for owning a WordPress site long term.
We'll be using the following website, Tours of Nature, as our example site.
This site has a homepage with some content and a slideshow, an about page,
a page with tour destinations, a photo gallery, a blog, a register page, and
a contact page.
We don't assume you know anything about WordPress when you start this course.
So don't worry if you start to feel overwhelmed.
We'll go at a comfortable pace and only cover the essentials.
If you knew the WordPress, I would suggest that
you watch all of the videos in this course.
However, if you've worked with WordPress before, you could
skip straight to the videos that address what you need.
So now that we have an overview of
what we'll cover in this course, let's get started.
