Design Overview1:28 with Brandy Morgan
In this video we will go over the design of the application and decide which components we will need to build. Showing how, we as developers, should look at designs and pick them apart into buildable components.
Facebook React Native Documentation
Set up your React Native projects and get your apps up and running quickly on a device or simulator, using create react native app
In this stage, we are gonna dive into the beginning phase of development.
First, we are gonna take a look at the designs
which will determine the components we need to build.
We will then go into the building of our application.
Make sure to get the correct files from the download section to follow along.
Before we begin, let's install all dependencies by running
MPM Install in the root of our project in the terminal.
This will install all the projects packages to get it up and running.
Let's start by talking about scenes.
In this course, we will be using scenes for navigation.
You can think of them like different web pages for our application.
We will need to build a welcome scene that has a text input for
us to enter in our team name, and a button to trigger an action for saving that data.
The second scene we need to create is our team selector scene.
This scene will be made up of our carousel component and two buttons for
selecting the superheroes we want and skipping the ones we don't want.
The last scene we need to create is our team profile scene.
This scene will be made up of our character list component for
pulling in characters we select to join our superhero team.
The character list will be using React Native scroll view,
which is a scrollable list that renders all the list items at once.
