Custom Post Formats on WordPress Blogs0:52 with Zac Gordon
Custom post formats let you identify the primary type of content a current post is about or is using. For example, you can have posts set specifically as photo or quote posts. In this video we talk briefly about each of the main types of post formats in WordPress.
Post formats in WordPress allow you to set the primary
type of content that this post is posting about, or using.
For example, if it's just an image or it's just
a video, or maybe a quote, then you could set that.
Then, depending on what theme you use, you may see that
these different post formats are styled differently on the front end.
For example, an image post could just have a very small text, and a border around it.
Whereas, a quote might not display the title, but just the quote that's pasted.
Or, a link may have a link icon with
a link out to whatever you posted a link about.
It really depends on what theme you have
to determine whether or not selecting a post format
in the post edit page here will show any differently on the front end of the site.
